The edtech startup FourthRev has announced its Series A round of $8 million which was led by Educapital, Europe’s first education technology impact fund. Reach Capital, Emerge Education and Danner Capital participated as follow on investors as well as a number of edtech entrepreneurs and executives. FourthRev addresses the digital skills gap in collaboration with global universities, tech and industry to enable candidates to achieve successful career outcomes in the digital economy.
FourthRev will use the investment to develop and promote its Career Accelerators focused on key areas experiencing the most acute digital skills shortages. FourthRev’s programmes bridge the gap between employers and universities, developed in collaboration to combine world class education and job-focused technical skills where there is most need and opportunity.
FourthRev designs unique, cost-effective and globally relevant programmes with partners that include the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and King’s College London (KCL), leading technology companies, Tableau and Github, and industry employers, Thoughtworks and Robert Walters.
The first FourthRev Career Accelerator in Data Analytics is currently underway. The six-month programme will train students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to develop holistic data analysis skills. It has been designed and developed by LSE’s Departments of Statistics and Department of Methodology in collaboration with leading industry partners to ensure outcomes align with current employer demand.
FourthRev's mission is to empower learners and become the world’s leading enabler of employability outcomes in the digital economy. The latest investment will be used to develop and promote new Career Accelerators focused on other key areas with the most acute digital skills shortages such as cybersecurity, AI, analytics, UI and project management skills. As a global, remote-first business, FourthRev will also be doubling headcount worldwide, expanding operations in the UK, Australia, South Africa and North America.
